Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information — and what you can ask us to do about it.

SolveSA (Pty) Ltd, Registration number 2020/601513/07, a company in the Alternative Prosperity Group. Last updated 14 August 2026.

Who we are and what this covers

SolveSA (Pty) Ltd is a Responsible Party for the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). That means we decide why and how your personal information is processed, and we are accountable for it.

This policy covers the information we collect through this website — including our free tools, our contact form and our course enquiry forms — and the information you give us in the course of working with us.

SolveSA is a subsidiary of the Alternative Prosperity Group. The Group’s PAIA and POPIA Manual applies to us and sets out the full detail of how information requests are handled. You can read our PAIA manual or download it directly.

The information we collect

We collect personal information relating to both individual and juristic persons in order to carry out our business. Through this website, that is usually:

  • What you give us directly — your name, work email address, phone number, company name, the programme or service you are asking about, and whatever you write in a message or enquiry.
  • What our tools collect — if you use the B-BBEE Gap Analysis, the company and scorecard details you enter, and any certificate or report you choose to upload so that our team can prepare an analysis for you.
  • What your browser tells us — anonymous information about how the public site is used, gathered through cookies. See “Cookies” below.

We do not collect more than we need, and we do not ask for information we have no use for.

Why we process it, and on what basis

We process personal information only for the purpose it was collected for. In practice that means:

  • responding to your enquiry, quote request or booking
  • preparing the analysis, proposal or report you asked us for
  • delivering the services you have engaged us to deliver
  • meeting our own legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations
  • improving how this website works

We will not use your information for a different purpose unless that new purpose is compatible with the original one, or you agree to it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Your rights

POPIA gives you real rights over your own information. You are entitled to:

  • be told that we are collecting your personal information — and to be told if there is ever a data breach affecting it
  • ask whether we hold information about you, and to see it
  • ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading, or was obtained unlawfully
  • object to our use of your personal information, and ask us to delete it — subject to the records we are legally required to keep
  • object to direct marketing by unsolicited electronic communication
  • complain to the Information Regulator, and to institute civil proceedings, if you believe your rights under POPIA have been infringed

To exercise any of these, contact our Information Officer using the details below. The formal objection and correction forms are Appendices 3 and 4 of the Group’s PAIA and POPIA Manual.

How long we keep it, and how we protect it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires us to.

We apply physical and organisational security measures so that personal information — on paper and electronically — is protected against unauthorised access, loss, destruction or damage, both when it is stored and when it is sent. The Group’s manual sets out those measures in full.

Sending information outside South Africa

Section 72 of POPIA restricts transferring personal information out of the country. Where we do so, it is only where the receiving country’s data protection laws are substantially similar to POPIA’s conditions for lawful processing, or you have consented, or the transfer is necessary to perform a contract with you or in your interest.

Cookies

Cookies are harmless text files that web servers can store on your computer’s hard drive when you visit a website. They allow the server to recognise you when you revisit.

There are two main types:

  • Transient (or per-session) cookies exist only for the duration of your visit and are deleted when you leave. They recognise you as you move between pages, and they help maintain security.
  • Persistent (or permanent) cookies stay on your machine until they expire or are deleted. Many are built with automatic deletion dates. These often store login details so you do not have to re-enter them.

We use both types.

Cookies can also be first-party or third-party. First-party cookies are created by the website you are viewing. Third-party cookies are created by an independent company, usually one providing a service to the website’s owners.

What we use cookies for

  • to understand how visitors move through our public site
  • to evaluate how well our site and promotions are working, using Google Analytics. We own the anonymous data collected and do not share it.

We do not use cookies to track your internet use after you leave our site, and we do not store personal information in them that others could read. We will not sell or distribute cookie information without your consent.

Changing your cookie settings: follow the instructions provided by your browser, usually under Help, Tools or Settings.
